Congressman Larry Bucshon, a physician from Southern Indiana, released the following statement regarding the announcement by Speaker of the House John Boehner that the House of Representatives will vote to create a new select committee to investigate the September 11, 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya that killed four Americans.
Bucshon stated:
"Due to the aggressive, ongoing investigation of multiple House committees, new information, including recently released e-mails concerning the Benghazi tragedy, has come to light warranting a select committee be appointed. It is now clear the Administration lied to the American people and has reached a new level of stonewalling Congress. The select committee is the next step to hold the Administration accountable, get the truth, and serve justice. I applaud the current, outstanding work of the committees involved and I stand ready to help in any way to move this investigation forward.”
