The Administration announced a deal with Iran, but it seems like a "giveaway" to the Iranian regime. I'm fundamentally skeptical that any agreement can be reached with Iran, the leading state sponsor of terrorism and regime that continues to promote anti-American rhetoric, has vowed to eliminate Israel, and has a history of deceit. I also don’t buy the Administration’s rhetoric that we have only two choices: a bad deal or war.
Moving forward, Congress has the opportunity and obligation to review this deal in full. That being said, I cannot support an agreement that puts our national security at risk, jeopardizes the safety of the American people and our allies, or spurs a nuclear arms race in this unstable region. I also believe Congress should reject this deal in its current form.
As we debate this agreement, I want you to have an opportunity to read it and share your thoughts.
